The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) dramatically increased volumes of supplies of natural gas to Russia under a contract with Gazprom.
SOCAR informed, that since 5 March volume of gas supplies to Russia has been increased from 1.5 million to 3 million cu m per day.
“It will allow delivering 1 billion cu m of gas to Russia in 2010,” SOCAR informed. The contract was signed with minimal volume of gas supply of at least 500 million cu m of gas per annum.
“In 2011, volume of gas supplies has not been defined so far, because in compliance with the contract, we should inform Gazprom of available free gas resources and propose them to Russia,” SOCAR reported.
