ITU: Azerbaijan is leading country for cutting mobile communication tariffs

The list list of top five countries on mobile communication tariffs decrease includes Sri-Lanka (67 percent), Nepal (64 percent), Ukraine (58 percent) and Mexico (52 percent).

The lowest tariffs on mobile communication in the world are in Hong Kong (China), Norway, Denmark, Singapore and Austria.

According to the report 8 out of top 10 developed countries in ICT sphere are located in Northern Europe.

Sweden tops the ICT Development Index ranking based on the 2008 results.

Luxemburg, South Korea, Denmark, Holland, Iceland, Switzerland, Japan, Norway and the UK are also included to the top 10 ranking list on ICT Development Index.

Azerbaijan is 81st in that ranking list, while Russia is 48th, Belarus 55th, Ukraine 58th, Kazakhstan 69th, Moldova 73rd, Georgia 80th, Armenia 88th, Kyrgyzstan 99th, Turkmenistan 108th, Uzbekistan 110th and Tajikistan 111th.
