Kazakhstan stops pumping oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline

18 February 2010 [19:33] - TODAY.AZ
Kazakhstan-based Tengizshevroil company working on Tengiz and Korovelskoe oilfields has suspended pumping oil through BTC.
According to KAZINFORM, Todd Levy, the company president attributed it to rise in oil tariffs for the oil transportation by Azerbaijani side.

However, the suspension did not affect the volume of the oil outputted by the company.

Maximum efforts will be taken for exporting oil from Tengiz to world market with alternative ways, he noted.
