Azerbaijan to launch major power plant next year

The "Cenub" power station in Shirvan will be commissioned in 2011, said Etibar Pirverdiyev, president of AzerEnerji.
According to him, the 800 MW power plant is being built on the basis of gas turbines.

In addition, construction of Fizuli HPS has been launched.

In his words, construction of several small hydropower stations in various regions of the country will be started this year.
