Azerbaijan exempts grain imports from VAT and customs duties

According to a decision signed by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, grains and milled grain products imported to build up the national stockpiles are exempted from VAT and customs duties.

The government said that this decision was taken in the light of proposals agreed with the Ministry of Emergencies, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Taxation, Ministry of Justice, and the State Customs Committee with a view to meet the consumer demand for grain products in the event of an emergency and if necessary, to prevent a sharp change in the prices in the domestic grain market.
