New Azerbaijani Party Deputy Chairman: Azerbaijan's economy has a reliable backup

The ruling New Azerbaijani Party (NEP) organized today a conference titled, "Transition Period Ends: A Look at the Future."

Speaking at the event, NEP Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmedov said the conference is held in connection a recent statement by President Ilham Aliyev that the national economy is no longer in the process of transition.

"There are compelling reasons for such a statement in late 2009. During the financial crisis, this statement testifies to its insignificant effect on our economy," Ahmedov said.
