Baku hosts int'l conference on global financial crisis

The two-day event is co-organized by ASEU, Turkey`s Sakarya University and Turkish World Research Foundation.

Opening the event, rector of ASEU, MP Shamsaddin Hajiyev said a lot of accomplishments had been achieved in Azerbaijan thanks to successful economic policy initiated by national leader Heydar Aliyev and being continued by President Ilham Aliyev.

He noted preventive measures had been taken in the country to avoid negative impacts of the global financial crisis.

“In spite of the crisis, Azerbaijan maintains its leadership position across the world for rate of economic growth,” he added.

MP Rabiyyat Aslanova stressed the importance of “such events”, saying scientists from various countries have to share their opinions on how to avoid negative impacts of the crisis.

Other speakers in the event, spoke of Azerbaijan`s economic successes during the global financial crisis.
