SOCAR plans to began drilling wells from new platform on Oil Rocks field

“The platform number 2521 has already been installed in the sea. Two-piece platform number 2521 is designed for drilling 12 wells. Drilling is scheduled to begin early next year,” the Web site said.

The current design work is nearing completion in the platform number 1351, which will be installed on the Muddy Volcano platform. The platform is designed to drill 8 wells.

In general, over the past three years, SOCAR has put into operation 3 platforms for drilling 72 wells at the Oil Rocks field.
