Azerbaijan, Turkey, Israel to produce armored vehicles jointly

Currently, Azerbaijan is negotiating with two Turkish and one Israeli company, a source in the government said.

A deal is expected to be signed soon.

Under the state program on development of defense industry, track-type vehicles, self-propelled bridges and armored military trucks are scheduled to be produced together with the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense Industry on the basis tanks T-54 and T-55 seized from the arsenal.

Part of the work to be undertaken by order of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan will be carried out at the Ministry of Defense tank repair factory. Along with this, work on projects of local experts will continue.

At present Azerbaijan, together with the South African Paramount Group manufactures armored vehicles like matador and marauder.
