Recoverable oil reserves at Azerbaijan’s Azeri-Chirag-Ganeshli fields estimated at 923 million tons, the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) said.
“According to the latest estimation of ACG reserves made last year, primary geological and recoverable reserves from these fields at the end of 2008 were estimated at 2 billion and 923 million tons respectively.
Meanwhile, compared to the original 1998 estimation, geological oil reserves of ACG rose 45.6 percent and recoverable reserves 1.5 times,” the company said.
ACG recoverable gas reserves are estimated at 353 billion cubic meters and natural gas reserves – at 632 billion cubic meters.
As of Aug. 1,2009, 55 oil wells, 22 water injection and 3 gas injection wells were in operation in ACG. The total volume of production from these wells per day averages 115,000 tons of oil and 31 million cubic meters of gas.
In total, 164.2 million tons of oil and 37 billion cubic meters of associated gas have been produced and 80.3 million cubic meters of water and 13 billion cubic meters of gas have been injected to layers since beginning of the fields’ development (November 1997).
Oil is being produced from 11 wells in Central Azeri field with daily output totaling 28,000 tons of oil and 8 million cubic meters of associated gas.
There are 13 operating wells in Western Azeri with daily output of 39,000 tons of oil and 8.3 cubic meters of associated gas. Nearly 31.2 million tons of oil and 5 billion cubic meters of associated gas have been produced since the beginning of the field's development
There are 9 operating wells in Eastern Azeri with daily output of 17,000 tons of oil and 6.7 million cubic meters of associated gas. About 16.3 million tons of oil and 6.072 billion cubic meters of associated gas have been produced since the beginning of the development.
The Deep Water Gunashli has 9 operating wells with daily output of 16,800 tons of oil and 6.4 million cubic meters of associated gas. Nearly 5.645 million tons of oil and 1.859 billion cubic meters of associated gas have been produced from the field since the beginning of development.
