Israeli to buy Azerbaijani gas only after infrastructure is in place

27 August 2009 [09:11] - TODAY.AZ
"There is a need to build infrastructure in Israel," Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan Michael Lavon Lotem said commenting on Israel's possible gas purchases from Azerbaijan.
"There is a need to build infrastructure in Israel to turn liquid gas into household gas. This is the same case with a pipeline. It will be possible to buy Azerbaijani gas only after these problems are addressed," the ambassador said.

"There is a need for electricity in Israel. About 30 percent of the electricity is derived from gas. We want to extend these opportunities. Israel consumes 10,000 megawatts of energy. We want our opportunities to be wider," he said.
