Azerbaijani Social Protection Fund's revenues up 20 percent in a year

Revenues of the Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund reached 759 million manat over the first six months of 2009, a rise of 19 percent from similar period of 2008, the fund said.
Revenues from obligatory state social insurance increased 25.3 percent within reporting period to settle at 490 million manat, 56.4 percent of which accounts for off-budget organizations. Payments on social insurance by these organizations increased 16.6 percent.

"As of early 2009 level of revenues in the fund's budget allowed to finance pensions and benefits in time," the message said.

During this period, fund's expenses totaled 825 million manat, 33.2 percent more than the similar period of 2008. Roughly 97 percent (801 million manat) of these funds were directed for social payments.
