Azerbaijan’s Social Protection Fund releases poll into pension system reforms

The fund conducted a poll on achievement of the pension system reforms on its Web site.

Nearly 27.5 percent of respondents described plastic cards as the major achievement of pension system reforms.

About 23.5 percent said the major achievement was rise in pensions, 17.3 – shift to individual of accounting system and 12.9 percent – elimination of bureaucratic obstacles.

About 18.8 percent found it difficult to respond.

The poll indicated that roughly 80 percent of respondents are interested in reforms in pension system.

Currently pension payments are automated by 96.3% in Azerbaijan. In the urban areas, this process is automated by 100 percent and in rural areas -by 92,5 percent. In general, currently 1.89 million people receive pension via cards in Azerbaijan.
