Online reservation system necessary for tourism development in Azerbaijan

According to Gizela Kovalke Altman, official of the Tourism Institute of Azerbaijan on project with GTZ, such kinds of tourism as business tourism, family tourism and resort tourism can be perspective in Azerbaijan.

"Azerbaijan has about 300 monuments that must not only attract tourists but also be under protection. It is necessary to regulate norms of human behavior. It is necessary to develop not only the number of tourists but also to know how many tourists can arrive in Azerbaijan, develop service, infrastructure and be aware of not only positive but also negative moments of the tourism activity", said Altman.

According to expert, marketing development is among the important moments to achieve success.

"It is necessary to study the directions of tourism, interesting for a definite group of people. It is very important to develop the online reservation system for every potential tourist to have access to service via Internet", said Altman.

The conference is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Tourism Institute of Azerbaijan.
