Azerbaijan Tax Ministry suspends exit control through time-keeping

Azerbaijani Tax Ministry suspended the exit tax control through time-keeping with taxpayers engaged in certain activities in order to prevent the possible influence of the financial crisis on the country.
The Ministry instructed to suspend the exit tax audits and observation through time-keeping until the Dec. 31, 2009. This order involves tax payers occupied in manufacturing sphere, excluding enterprises in Baku and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) to manufacture products with documentary stamps and occupied in the production of natural resources; retail trade and services centre, whose POS-terminals turnover is 30,000 manat (excluding fuel stations); taxpayers who pays 30,000 manat to the state budget monthly from event houses; retail trade centres with area of six square metres; enterprises with the number of employees not more than two people involved in the repair and manufacture of furniture, photos, audio and video, shoes, clothes, atelier, with knitting and sewing of leather goods, repair of hours of TV sets, refrigerators and other appliances; companies offering technical and other services through the transport, hairdressing, business repair and fabrication of jewelry, arworkshops; enterprises engaged in housing construction, construction work started after Jan.1, 2009.

Tax Policy and Strategic Investigation Department head Hamid Zeynalov instructed to provide
methodical assistance to adjusted agencies and Ministry's department to provide clarification on these criteria.

Heads of all departments of the Tax Ministry were instructed to submit proposals to supplement the list of criteria and send them to the Tax Policy and Strategic Investigation Department.
