Program of raising level of gasification of population developed in Azerbaijan

By the end of 2013 Azerigaz plans to raise the level of gas supplies to Azerbaijani population up to 93-95% from current 85%, said deputy chairman of Azerigaz Nazim Samedzade, according to Trend Capital.
"The program has already been completed and this issue will be considered once again with the executive powers of each region. After that we will start implementation of this project with definite proposals", noted Samedzade.

Currently the number of gas subscribers of the country is 1.165,000 against 880,000 before early 2004. The gasification of country's population in this period has risen from 64 to 85%.

On the whole, in five years gas was supplied to 287,000 additional consumers.

"In 2009-2013 we are planning to supply gas to the same number of subscribers", announced Samedzade.

In 2008 AzeriGaz supplied country's consumers with 11.2 bln cubic meters of gas. The daily gas volume in the gas transportation system of AzeriGaz makes 52,000,000 cubic meters.

"We were first to reveal these figures", added Samedzade.

Of the volume of gas received by Azerigaz in 2008 SOCAR accounted for 11,205,000,000 cubic meters, ACG field for 2,027,000,000 and Shah Deniz project for 2,337,000,000 cubic meters of gas.
