Deloitte auditing company prepares tenth EITI report on Azerbaijan

Results of a contest among auditing companies on development of the 10th report on EITI were declared at the session of the selective group, consisting of members of the governmental commission on Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and Coalition of nongovernmental organizations on EITI and oil producing companies, according to the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan.

The selective group selected the auditing company Deloitte for development of the 10th report on EITI (the document covers the second half of 2008).

Notably, the selective group invited four famous auditing companies - Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young and Moore Stephens for participation in the tender.

Notably, the first, second, fourth and fifth reports on EITI were prepared by Deloitte&Touche, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth by Moore Stephes.

The memorandum of mutual understanding on EITI involves 26 oil and gas companies. Azerbaijan joined EITI in 2003. The governmental commission on EITI was created by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers in November of 2003.
