Director of Nabucco project Reinhard Mitchek: "Implementation of Nabucco project is impossible without Turkey"

He said there is the only plan on implementation of the gas pipeline. "If Turkey is not in the project, there is no gas pipeline. This project can be implemented only in a single variant and this is impossible without Turkey's participation", said he.

He noted that natural gas from Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field in the volume of 8 bln cubic meters will be one of the sources of filling Nabucco gas pipeline.

"Talks with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on gas supplies have already been launched. We are confident that the natural gas reserves in the volume of 8-10 bln cubic meters will be enough for initial filling of the gas pipeline by 2014", said he.

He did not rule out possible raising of volumes of filling gas pipelines from other sources.
