Azerbaijan launches development of tenth report on Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative

At a session of the Selection group, involving members of the commission on Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and Coalition of NGOs on EITI and oil companies, it was decided to launch development of the 10th report on EITI, said sources from the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan.

In this connection, it was decided to send invitations to the auditor companies for participation in the contest for developing the report on EITI.

Notably, the ninth report on EITI covered oil and gas revenues in January-June of 2008 and was published on the basis of conclusion of the auditing company Moore Stephens.

Notably, the memorandum of understanding on EITI includes 26 oil and gas companies. Azerbaijan joined the initiative in 2003. A special commission on EITI execution was created by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers in November of 2003.
