22 January 2009 [10:38] - TODAY.AZ
"Though SOCAR revenues dropped due to the drop in oil prices, no changes are expected in internal investment projects and social programs, said SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev, according to AzTV.
He said this year SOCAR will open another 4 medical center. He also said that staff reduction is not planned. Rovnag Abdullayev said that the gas crisis between Russia, Ukraine and Europe raised Azerbaijan's significance.

"Azerbaijan's role in ensuring energy security of Europe has been confirmed once again. Now we are executing our plans. This is not only the Nabucco project but also Turkey-Georgia-Italy gas pipeline and Transadriatic gas pipeline. In all projects we try to sell Azerbaijani gas on the European markets for high prices", said he.
