A new standard on oil products has been applied in Georgia by a decision of the Georgian powers from January 1.
Benzene will make 3% instead of current 5%, serum will make 250 milligrams per kilo.
This standard was to be applied from 2008, yet its application was put off for a year.
According to head of the Association of oil products importers, Azerbaijani gasoline and diesel make a greater part of fuel. Moreover,SOCAR is among the biggest importers.
The transfer to a new standard in 2008 was problematic for Azerbaijan but from 2009 Azerbaijani fuel will meet the renewed standards. In 2010 standards will toughen, benzene part will be raised to 1% and serum to 150 milligrams.
