SOCAR investments $400,000,000 to Georgian economy

SOCAR has invested a total of $400,000,000 to the economy of Georgia, said SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.
He said of this amount $340,000,000 has been invested only to Kulev terminal on the Black Sea shore of this country, where huge work has been held on reconstruction and modernization. This terminal is intended for storage and loading of crude oil and oil products to the ships.

"Today we are satisfied with the work of the terminal", noted Abdullayev.

SOCAR president also noted that in 2008 2,000,000 tons of oil products were exported via the terminal, while in 2009 there is a plan to raise this volume to 8-10,000,000 tons.

SOCAR president voiced satisfaction with the activity of daughter affiliate SOCAR Georgia Gaz in Georgia.

"In the coming years SOCAR will play an important role in ensuring gas to Georgia", noted Abdullayev.
