Foreign investments in Azerbaijan make over AZN 2 bln in January-November

In January-November of 2008 foreign investments into Azerbaijan made AZN 2,046,000,000 (12.8% lower as compared to the due period of the last year).
Day.Az reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee that Great Britain is still leaving for the volume of investments in Azerbaijan with its 46.5% or AZN 951,665,800. At the same time, the volume in British investments dropped 8.2%.

It is followed by the United States with AZN 414,900.000 (26.8% drop, as compared to the last year) or 20.3% of all foreign investments, Japan - AZN 213,100,000 (27.6% drop) or 10.4%, Turkey AZN 142,500,000 (2.2% rise) or 7%, Norway - AZN 132,700,000 (28.3% lower) or 6.5%.

South Korea remains the sixth in this list with investments on the level of AZN 38,476,500 (1.9% of total investments).

1.4% is invested by Germany, 1.2% by France, 0.5% Iran and Russia each, 0.4% Czechia, 0.1% UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Italy, Austria and insignificant percentage by Finland, Switzerland and Singapore.

Among international financial institutions WB is leading with its AZN 30,930,200 (1.5% of investments). It is followed by the Islamic Development Bank AZN 9.5 mln (0.5%), Asian Development Bank AZN 9.5 mln (0.5%), EBRD AZN 5,441,800 (0.3%), Kuwait Economic Development Fund AZN 4.4 mln (0.2%) and Save the Children AZN 150,000.
