Price of electricity not expected to rise in 2009

"We did not address the Council of Tariffs to increase the price of electricity", President of Azerenergy JSC Etibar Pirverdiyev told journalists, APA reports.
He said rise of the electricity price was not expected in 2009 and this
issue was not discussed at all. Pirverdiyev said the energy supply of
the country had no problem. "Azerenergy distributors are ready for
winter season and this year the country’s electricity supply will not
face with any problem". The energy official estimated some problems as
an exceptional case and said force major circumstances should be taken
into consideration. "Some regions faced some problems during the
last storm, but such cases are eliminated in a short time". Pirverdiyev
said electricity payment reached 80 percent in Azerbaijan in 2008.
