SOCAR and Georgian Energy Ministry sign memorandum of cooperation in the sphere of gas supplies

SOCAR and Energy Ministry signed a memorandum on supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Georgia.
According to SOCAR, president Rovnag Abdullayev, the memorandum envisions supplies of 892 cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas within five years to neutralize deficit.

He said this document can be prolonged for the next five years upon expiry.

"Currently Azerbaijan covers 70% of Georgian market, while the remaining 30% are financed by the Georgian government. But in five years we will cover 100% of the Georgian market", said Rovnag Abdullayev.

He also said a contract to transfer gas distribution networks of Georgia to SOCAR is being developed and this contract can be signed by the end of the year.
