The talks on Azerbaijan's WTO accession are held with different countries, said Mahmud Mamedkuliyev, deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan and head of the national work group on WTO accession.
He said the talks with the US side are to be held in Washington on November 18, bilateral talks with Brazil, Ecuador, South Korea and Japan will be held in Geneva on November 24-28 and talks with the EU in Brussels will be held on December 8, while the session of the work group will be held on December 11.

"Perhaps, talks with the remaining countries will be held in this period", said he.

According to him, about 160 countries of the world are WTO members. The only large economy, which is still beyond the organization is Russia.

"We want to join WTO on conditions, which will meet our demands in the sense of economic development and its diversification as well as development of local production, services sphere and so on. If we did not take it into account, we could have joined this organization long before. But we are holding talks to attain profitable conditions".

As for the influence on local production, he said this may occur and some companies and firms can not stand competition.

"Therefore, we are negotiating to attain conditions, profitable for us and which could promote production in Azerbaijan and development of competition and so on", concluded he.
