Azerbaijan’s largest broiler farm to shut down

Aydin Valiyev, Chairman of Merdekan Broyler, said the farm will soon report to the Ministry of Taxes and the State Social Protection Fund about its closure because of financial difficulties.

"We will stop our activity in 10 days. We can’t afford to buy food additives, feedings and breed eggs. We have 15 000 to 20 000 chicks left. We will shut down after they are raised," he added.

Merdekan Broyler, the first broiler farm in the country, produced about 3 000 tons of chicken meat a year.
