Saipem, Europe's biggest oil-field services contractor by market value, won a contract in Azerbaijan.
Saipem will inspect, maintain and repair offshore facilities owned by BP Plc in Azerbaijan, the Milan-based company said today in a statement distributed by the Italian stock exchange. BP can extend the five-year agreement by two years.
Saipem is controlled by Rome-based Eni SpA, which has a 43 percent stake. Saipem accounts for about 30,000 people from 100 countries.
