The Azerbaijan Railway Company is predicting transportation of 35 mln tons of cargo for 2009, according to sources from the company.
Of the overall volume of cargo about 40% will fall on oil and oil products, as well as transit.
Big volumes of agricultural production will be transported by railroad to Ukraine, Russia and about 1 mln tons of aluminum ore via Georgian ports of Batumi and Poti.
Moreover, large volume of concrete is expected to be imported from Ukraine, Russia and Turkey due to construction of highways and residential complexes in the country.
It should be noted that the transportation volume is planned to be 30 mln tons this year.
