Assets of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli to pass to Azerbaijan by 2009

The initial commission, created by the State Oil Company, State Oil Foundation and Azerbaijani Operating Company, has already launched work for passing the assets, as the period of the so-called "zero balance", when investments of foreign contractors have been compensated, has already started. After investments are fully compensated, the property will pass to Azerbaijan.

"The process will complete by 2009", said Abdullayev.

It should be noted that the contract on the ACG project was signed on September 20 of 1994 for the term of 30 years and it envisions production of about 9 bln barrels of oil through this period.
