Heydar Babayev: "Denationalization of Azerbaijan's oil sector is inexpedient"

The privatization of Azerbajani oil enterprises is not planned now", said Economic Development Minister of Azerbaijan Heydar Babayev speaking at the business round table with the government of Azerbaijan "Changes for steady development", arranged by "The Economist".

According to him, Azerbaijan is currently successfully cooperating with the leading world companies in the oil sector, it has the state oil company, which is implementing a number of its own and joint projects.

"In order to take a decision on the denationalization of the country's oil sector, it is necessary to study experience of other countries in this issue, but I consider that at the current stage privatization in this sphere is inexpedient", concluded the Minister.
