Turkish Fatoglu company to purchase grain from Sheki farmers

For the purpose of assistance to Sheki farmers in the sale of grain, the Azerbaijan's Economic Development Ministry arranged a meeting of local farmers with Turkish Fatoglu.
According to Day.Az, Deputy Economic Development Minister Sevinj Hasanova announced that as declared by the State Statistical Committee of the country, this year the grain crops topped 2,300,000 tons, except for corn, of which 1,600,000 tons falling on grain.

Of the total volume of grain crops the crops in Sheki made 145,000 tons, which is 100,000 tons higher, as compared to the previous year.

According to the deputy minister, in line with the instruction of the country's president on support of farmers in the sale of grain representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, Ministries of Economic Development and Agriculture will arrive in Sheki for the purpose of averting problems with the sale on August 19-20.

They held a monitoring in the sphere of the sale of grain and revealed problems.

"We have held talks with flour producers and Fatoglu agreed to purchase production by market prices", said Hasanova.

According to the chief executive of the Fatoglu company - Bekir Zere, they agreed to purchase grain from the farmers for the long-term basis.

"We have created our laboratory to examine the sorts and quality of grain for defining prices", said Zere.
