EBRD representative: "Economic reforms, conducted in Azerbaijan, is the focus of our attention"

Day.Az reports with reference to the press service for the Economic Development Ministry that during the meeting Babayev said Azerbaijan attaches special importance to development of relations with international financial institutions, including EBRD.

It was noted that Azerbaijan is among the countries, which borrow credits from the EBRD. A number of projects in the state and private economic sectors are being successfully implemented under EBRD's financial support. The Minister voiced hope for further strengthening of ties with EBRD.

He noted the improvement of business environment in Azerbaijan. The principle of "a single window" has been applied in registration of entrepreneurs since  January of 2008. The State Program on Entrepreneurship Development for 2008-2013 is expected to be ratified soon.

The amendments to the Labor Code and application of the "single window" system are also expected in allocation of sites for construction. "All these measures will promote the further improvement of the business climate in the country", said Babayev.

In turn, Gaider noted that economic reforms and attained success in Azerbaijan is in the focus of the EBRD attention. He voiced satisfaction with the development of a number of economic sector, including the financial one. He said EBRD plans to implement a number of projects in Azerbaijan's financial sector.
