Intergovernmental commission on Azerbaijan-Latvia economic cooperation holds its second session

Riga hosted the second session of the intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia, said the press service for Azerbaijan's Economic Development Ministry.
The event was attended by a delegation led by Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev.

The delegation included representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Industry and Energy, Culture and Sport, Education and others. The Latvian side was represented by a delegation. led by Economy Minister Kaspar Gerkhards.

The session participants discussed the economic ties between Azerbaijan and Latvia, prospects of their development. By results of the meeting, the sides signed a protocol by results of the second session of the intergovernmental commission. In line with the document, the sides will continue cooperation in the trade and economic, energy, banking and other sectors. Meetings of H.Babayev with Latvian Transport Minister Alnars Shlesser, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Riektinsh and others were held in the framework of the visit.

Babayev also visited Ricas Piena Kombinats of dairy products.

It should be noted that the first session of the intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia was held in Baku in March of 2007.
