Azerbaijani government to privatize Aztelekom

Works on privatization of Aztelekom of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and Baku Telephone Communication Production Union (BTRIB) have been accelerated Ali Abbasov, Minister for Communication and Information Technologies said, APA Economics reports.

To him, joint ventures have been privatized in the first half of this year. Azercell, Azeurotel and CATEL have been already privatized.

"We conduct negotiations with the State Committee on State Property Management on privatization of Aztelekom and BTRIB. Advisor Ernst &Yang Company has already conducted estimation of the two bodies and made proposals for privatization," he said.

The minister noted that the two ventures will be privatized within two years.
