07 July 2008 [17:38] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan and Hungary should make efforts to use the existing potential of trade and economic relations and raise trade turnover, said Azerbaijan's Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev at the opening of the Azerbaijan-Hungary business-forum in Baku.

He said by results of 2007 the trade turnover made $11.8 mln and "this is a low indicator on the background of the existing potential".

"The Azerbaijan-Hungary relations have entered a new stage following the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Hungary 3 years ago. Azerbaijan is interested in development of business-relations", said Babayev.

According to Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany, 11 Hungarian companies already have their business in Baku in such spheres, as construction, financial sector, food industry, tourism, pharmaceuticals. "Hungary also has attractive conditions for investors", said he.

It should be noted that during the forum, arranged by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Azerbaijani Export and Investments Promotion Foundation, was attended by up to 10 Hungarian companies.
