The Supsa port will launch the first Azeri Light oil shipment of 80,000 tons in late June, following commissioning of the western route, idle since 2006.
SOCAR vice president Elshad Nasirov told reporters that the pipeline filling has already begun.
It should be noted that vice president of BP-Azerbaijan (pipeline operator) on ground operations Rashid Javanshir previously reported that the repair works on the export pipeline of the western route (Baku-Supsa) took $53 mln to BP-Azerbaijan.
This large scale program of repair and replacement, lasting for 18 months, included replacement of pipeline sections in Georgia (changing the route in Zestafon) and in Azerbaijan (Kura river, Western cross). At the same time the program of repair of defects of the USSR times, which included repair of failures, revealed during inspections, has been completed.
