Azerbaijan produced in total 11.247 million tons of oil during the first quarter, a 7.96% rise as compared to a year earlier.
Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), a BP-led consortium of foreign petroleum companies that signed extraction contracts with Azerbaijan, produced 9.078 million tons of oil from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field during this period, up 10.35% from the same period last year.
During this period Chirag produced around 1.519 tons, a 14.08% decline from the previous year. Oil production rose 17.03%, year-over-year, to 7.559 million tons in Azeri Field.
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 2.168 million tons during this period, a 1% decline from the first quarter of 2007.
