The Kulev oil terminal will open within the next two weeks, said Mahir Mamedov, representative of Socar Energy Georgia.

"We have obtained permission of the Georgia's Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Environmental Protection, and we are now waiting for permission of country's Ministry of Internal Affairs", noted he.
The Black Sea terminal (Kulev oil terminal), as its general manager Karim Guliyev says, will first ensure transportation of the Azerbaijani oil and the transportation of Kazakh oil is planned in the near future.
Initially, the terminal will provide transportation of 2,000,000 tons of oil and 4,000,000 tons of diesel fuel, while in the future there is a plan to raise the cargo turnover from 15,000,000 up to 20,000,000 tons. A laboratory to check quality of oil and oil products is currently functioning in the terminal and there is also a small flotilla consisting of 9 rescue vessels.
