Investments into first private electric station in Azerbaijan to make up EUR 523,000,000

The South Korean energy company KEPCO estimates the volume of investments into the construction of the first private electric station in Alyaty at AZN 640,000,000 or EUR 523,000,000.

Day.Az reports with reference to the press service for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economic Development that under the feasibility study, introduced to the Ministry of Economic Development, the electric station will consist of two gas and one steam turbine. The station capacity will make 818 MW and performance factor-57.27%.

For generation of each 1 KW-H of energy it is planned to spent only 0.185 cubic meters of natural gas, in other words, the energy, generated from 1 cubic meters of gas, will make up 5.4 KW-Hs.  

The project will be fully financed by KEPCO. The turnkey construction of the 1KW capacity station will be invested AZN783 or EUR 640.

As is reported, the Ministry of Economic Development has created a consortium of consultants to analyze proposals including French BNP Paribas (financial consultant), British Allen&Overy (legal consultant), MottMacDonald (technical consultant), Azerbaijani MGB (legal consultant).

Currently the consortium and the Ministry of Economic Development are considering proposals of the Korean company after which the project will be sent for consideration to other state structures.
