Azerbaijan to neutralize its gas debt to Georgia

15 February 2008 [12:31] - TODAY.AZ
We will start exportation of 10,000,000 cubic meters of gas to Georgia in the near future.
This debt remained from the previous supply agreement concluded last year.

The due information has been provided by Nazim Samedzade, deputy chairman of Azerigaz, during a press conference on Thursday, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

"Azerbaijan has supplied 60,000,000 cubic meters of gas to Georgia by the agreement since late December of 2007 until January 13 of 2008. Yet, due to deterioration of weather conditions, export of gas was halted", he noted.

He said the Ministry of Energy of Georgia and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan continue negotiating on supplies of Azerbaijani natural gas to the neighbor country.
