Azerbaijan preparing for second valuation of compliance with standards of International Group for Combat with Financial Irregularities

Azerbaijan is likely to pass the second valuation of compliance with FATF standards (International Group for Combat with Financial Irregularities) in late April of this year.

The due announcement was made by deputy chief executive of the National Bank Rufat Aslanly who is also a head of the inter-department work group for struggle against money laundering.

He said the visit of the CoE joint mission for struggle with money laundering and terrorism financing and the Committee for Experts  for valuation of measures in struggle with money laundering (MONEYVAL) to Azerbaijan finished yesterday.

"During the meeting we discussed preparations for the second round of valuation, scheduled for late April, further actions, plans of the Azerbaijani government on this issue as well as the issue of adoption of a law on struggle with money laundering and terrorism financing in Azerbaijan", Aslanly said.

The visit of the mission aimed to discuss, reveal and remove problems of introduction of international standard for combat with money laundering and terrorism financing.
