Investments into Azerbaijan's railway system top $15 million in 2007

Azerbaijan channeled AZN 13 million ($15.3 million) in investment into upgrading of the railway system in 2007, according to the State Railway Company (ADDY).

7 new locomotives were brought, 7.3km railway was laid, 12 locomotives, 800 freight and 61 passenger cars underwent major repair and 4,800 freight and 347 passenger cars were repaired in the depot.

Protection line along the railroad was built on the Zira-Pirallahi route and the bridge on the Araz River was reconstructed.
