Domestic airfare goes up in Azerbaijan

26 December 2007 [12:18] - TODAY.AZ
The Tariff Council of Azerbaijan (State Price Regulator) has reconsidered proposals on domestic airfares, prices of transportation and storage of radioactive substances, and customs laboratory examination.

In order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of domestic flights, single ticket prices for Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku, Gandja-Nakhchivan-Gandja, Baku-Gandja-Baku, Baku-Lenkeran-Baku and Baku-Zagatala-Baku were raised to AZN 95, AZN 39, AZN 56, AZN 41 and AZN 52 respectively.  The fee for extra luggage was set at 30 kopecks per kilo.

Considering Nakhchivan's isolation by Armenia and absence of its overland communications with Azerbaijan, the Cabinet of Ministers was requested to set privileges for airfares.

Besides, price of transportation of radioactive substances by state bodies was set at AZN 3.5 per kilometer, while their storage and burying at AZN 85 and AZN 80.

Tariffs of nearly 30 services rendered by customs laboratories vary from AZN 8 to AZN 110.

The Tariff Council has also changed tariffs for registration of radio frequencies, inductive coordination and control over use.

New prices for transportation, storage and burying of radioactive substances come into immediate effect and other tariffs will be effective from January 1, 2008.
