First footbridge to open in Baku

The first footbridge will open at Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Baku in a few days.

Punhan Mursaliyev, spokesman for Azeryolservis Company, said the footbridge is 70 meters long, 3.5 meters wide and 5.5 meters high.

There are four escalators – two at each ends. The construction work is  coming to an end.

The bridge is equipped with a state-of-the-art lighting system. The construction was carried out by Saridaghlar Ticaret ve Inshaat Company.

Mursaliyev added that pedestrian tunnels and bridges will also be constructed at Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, Azadlig Avenue, near Shamakhinka Circle and Meshedi Azzibayov Monument.

Five pedestrian crossings have been opened in Baku this year.
