Japanese Government to allocate over $172,000 to Azerbaijan

Agreements on implementation of two projects in Azerbaijan are to be signed in the residence of Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Masamutsi Oki on December 24, as reported by the press service for the Japanese Embassy.

These projects will be implemented at the expense of funds, allocated by the Japanese government in the framework of the grant program "Security of people and roots of herbs".

The total cost of the projects is $172,205.

According to the press service for the Embassy, the said amount will be the last financial aid, provided to Azerbaijan by the government of Japan in the framework of this program this year.

In particular, the allocated amount will be used for  construction of a secondary school building in the Khojavend region ($86,000) and equipment of the Karate-do Federation of Azerbaijan ($86,205).

The signing ceremony will be attended by heads of NGOs, which will take direct part in the project implementation.

The document will be signed by the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Masamutsi Oka, representing Japan and heads of NGOs, representing Azerbaijan.

Since 2000 the government of Japan has allocated a total of $6,683,484 to Azerbaijan for implementation of 99 projects in the framework of the grant program "Security of people and roots of herbs".
