Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover makes up $9.2 billion

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade made up $9.2 billion in January-October, which is a 2% decline as compared to the same period of 2006.

The information has been provided by the chairman of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, Arif Valiyev.

“Trade with far-abroad countries made up $6.8 billion, while trade with the CIS countries reached $2.4 billion during the reported period. Exports totaled $4.8 billion and imports stood at $4.4 billion, creating a favorable balance of $0.4 billion. Export included 63,000 tons of potatoes, 47,000 tons of vegetables, 64,000 tons of fruits, 20,000 tons of vegetable oil, 2.2 million tons of canned fruits and vegetables,” he added.

According to him, 5.4 million tons of crude oil and 119 million cubic meters of natural gas have been exported through the said period.

Azerbaijan accounted for 17.4% of trade with Turkey,  13% with Italy, 8.4% with Russia, 8.1% with Iran, 6.2% with Georgia, 6.2% with Indonesia and others among them.
