Azerbaijan imports 55,758 passenger cars in 2007

The information has been provided by the chairman of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan Arif Veliyev.

He noted that the rise is 16.6% as compared to 2006.

A.Veliyev said the number of imported lorries made up 7,406  in the reported period.

"150,200,000 tons of cargo have been transported in the trasport sector of Azerbaijan, which is a 15.2% rise as compared to 2006", he announced.

A.Beliyev noted that for the first time in Azerbaijan the volume of passenger transportation exceeded 1,000,000 people. Through 11 months of 2005, public transportation has transported 1,044,000 passengers with motor transport accounting for 85% and underground for 15%.
