Unemployment rate makes up 6.2% in Azerbaijan

At present Azerbaijan does not have great problems with unemployment, as reported by the Azerbaijani Minister of Labor and Social Protection Fizuli Alekperov.
According to him, the unemployed people make up 6.2% of the country population, which complies with the European standards. He considers that human factor plays a great role in the settlement of this issue, as people themselves refuse to work in most cases.

F.Alekperov announced that the economic boom in Azerbaijan caused demand of man power. According to him, 7,000 vacancies have been presented during the labor fair held in Baku lately, which resulted in placing of 2,200 people in jobs.

He also said the government has received a number of proposals for strengthening measures to protect labor rights of the citizens.

The Minister underlined the fact that the Ministry has ensured conclusion of 7,000 labor contracts and correct indication of salary in the contracts of 12,000 people.
