Statoil interested in cleaning of Azerbaijani rivers

Norway's Statoil Company is interested in the projects on cleaning of rivers in Azerbaijan.

Statoil representative Torbyern Lindset told APA that company is taking active part in the project of monitoring of the Kur and Araz implemented by OSCE and NATO.

"Statoil has allocated $25 thousand within 3 years, this year we intend to allocate euro 30 thousand. Monitoring, taking the samples of water and land is the first phase. This is done to make clear the situation. The next phase is the cleaning of water in which Statoil is interested to participate."

Lindset said access to clean water is one of the main human rights and it is becoming the major aspect of world. "Human rights and Labor right are the main projects of Statoil in Azerbaijan," he said.
